Reading in Acting can develop the Actor. Why Reading is Key in acting does a LOT for the actor. Doing acting scene work requires a lot of reading. Until you can get the words memorized, you’re going to need to develop your own reading system for acting.

As a Dyslexic Acting Teacher working with scripts led me to develop my own All-Capital Dyslexia Font for reading. I realized that I needed to do what it took to work with scripted materials. That studying over 30,000 acting exercises were great but the time it took to write everything, including scripts in my own handwriting was taking too long.

So, consider ways to improve your reading to improve your acting.

Giving yourself the Appetite of Reading

The goal in Reading is Key in acting to being able to entice yourself to do more of it.

If you need to read a spicy romance novel to keep yourself actively reading when not reading scripts, then go for it. It keeps you intrigued to entice you into keeping yourself active in reading.

Reading itself is an intellectual and spiritual practice. Spending time with materials and working to identify emotions within written materials can assist your acting.

Reading to develop your interests and expand them are great outcomes.

Reading to get identify the emotions and personality within the material is far different than just getting the logic out of the text.

Reading for acting like a Romance Novel is read is more ideal. Looking for ideas and identifiers that you can place yourself within is ideal.

Many people when they read don’t give themselves permission to really feel and emote when doing their reading.

Reading Aids to Motivate Reading
