ADD YOUR OWN: Motivations to your Independent Activities. Many Actors forget things to choose things that Motivate them! If you are motivated by independent reading activities then use reading activities. If you are motivated by independent play activities like juggling, then do that.  Let your interest dictate which fun independent activity to do.  Fun reading activities could also include planning a trip on a map or reading a map and directions for a search and rescue. 

Working your Independent Activity with your Emotional Preparations is a skillset. Be patient and kind to yourself as you discover your own techniques in acting using Independent Activities.
